Municipality of Iraklio Attica

Heraklion Attica is an urban area and municipality of the Athens urban complex, in the northern sector. The municipality includes the Cultural Centre which houses the municipal library, the multi-purpose and exhibition hall, the municipal theatre, the Museum of National Resistance and the "Villa Stella" where the Open Lecture Circle takes place, as well as painting exhibitions and other events. There are centres where the concentration of citizens is high where they come into contact with music, theatre, poetry and dance; the most important of these is the central square with its many cafes and open theatre, where cultural events, festivals as well as exhibitions of traditional products are often held. The Municipality also includes the Spiritual Centres of the Holy Trinity and St. Luke's Church, the radio station "Contact 94 FM" and the summer cinema "Nostalgia". The regional television stations Blue Sky, Nickelodeon Greece, RISE TV and SBC are housed in the middle of the municipality. The population of the city is 50.494 inhabitants according to the last census.
